Mexican food and wine pairing
Mexican food is a year-round fiesta, the third-most-popular food in America, by some counts the second-most popular. There are more than 60,000 Mexican food restaurants in the U.S.
Texas, New Mexico, California, Arizona, and Colorado have the largest percentage of Mexican menu-type restaurants. Some one-in-five Texas restaurants are Mexican food, or Tex-Mex as it sometimes is called in the Lone Star state.
Which raises the question among wine drinkers: does wine pair with Mexican or Tex-Mex dishes?
Answer: certainly, señor. Forget about beer and tequila.
