So now we have high quality, still affordable plonk in massive quantities. I have no problem with that and your column today is a great discussion of why. There was a time when the vin du table or vin du maison was pretty drinkable because it was what the proprietor drank and cooked with and had to be at least acceptable quality. If we've moved beyond acceptable, I'd say we've made substantial progress. As long as I can still recognize the difference when I do get a chance for one of those high quality and regrettably high priced wines, I'm happy with what I have the rest of the time.

The last round today was true wisdom as knowing when to call it the last round usually is.
