Draft wine in 15 gallon barrels was once regarded as the coming thing, at least in 'house' wines for restaurants, especially chains. Is that still happening?
I do not know. It does not seem to be on the radar screen. Restaurants and bars do buy wine in kegs (around five gallons) and some buy barrels, which are 60 gallons.
I hadn't heard about a barrel program for wines, but it makes sense. We had a couple of bourbon barrel programs at the resort that were very well received.
