Well done Gus, especially the closing humor. I can honestly say that I have never, even when buying for a restaurant or hotel, paid attention to the 'score' a wine got from anyone, even Parker. They're great as marketing tools, but if I didn't trust the sales rep, telling me the score didn't change a thing. I learned to trust my own taste and the opinion of some colleagues as well as a few public reviewers whose judgement had been validated by my experience with the wine in question. That hasn't changed, and I've found your comments to be generally spot on.
